Saving Water and Watering Economically
Restrictions
on the use of hosepipes in the garden are now commonplace.
Although these refer to the use of a hose as such to water
gardens and operate sprinklers, they also cover the use of
hosepipes to power garden watering systems generally.
This does not mean that you can't employ an AQUAMISER solution
to water your garden effectively and economically.
We have
always recommended using a water tank or butt to recycle
domestic grey water (from bathing or washing up etc) or
collected rainwater. If necessary you can top this up from
the mains. The
supply must be pressurised to operate your AQUAMISER system,
so you will need a pump. Machine Mart sells a range of pumps
suitable for this purpose. Most pumps incorporate some form
of filter. If not, please see Water Filter.
Our drip
watering products are ideal for essential, economical watering. We have systems for borders, hanging
baskets and planters, greenhouses and vegetable gardens. All
of these use drip watering components.
The systems for borders and vegetable gardens use our Drip Watering Tube. This comes in 50m
rolls with a drip irrigator every 30cm (12") and is
installed as a matrix of rows about 30cm apart with the ends
of the rows joined using elbows and T-connectors.
The tube puts the water where it's needed without foliage getting in
the way. It can be mulched over with bark chippings or
similar to conceal it and avoid evaporation.
